Plattie & Pinky all ready to go to their new homes. Unfortunately they will be separated, but they will be loved by two of the newest family members. Sophia, my granddaughter, and Oliva, my great niece. Ohh I sound so old!
My sister Carol sent me a link to the pattern at this site:

When Sofia's father was a toddler (he is 32 now) I took him to a craft store. He picked out a stuffed platypus. His name is Pookie. Well, one week after Pookie came home, his nose fell off. Robert was hysterical. So, back to the craft store we went. The owner took Pookie into the operating room out back, and gave him a new nose. There was someone there from the local newspaper.
They took our picture and wrote a little story about the store, poor Pookie, and his emergency surgery.
When I went to visit my new granddaughter, Sofia, guess who was sitting right on the coffee table? Yep, Pookie. So, now Sofia will have a platypus too and Pookie will have a friend. When I deliver hers, I have some emergency surgery to do on Pookie. He isn't as young as he used to be, one of his feet fell off, old age and all, I guess it was bound to happen!!
When I showed my daugher, Katie the new creations, she informed me that Platypus's have stingers. They are the only egg laying mamal with a poisonous stinger, and a beak. This is the child we are dropping of in NY to go to school for wildlife biology. I told her, thanks for the info, but there was no stinger in the pattern. So much for a cuddly baby toy! Whodaknown!

Deb, they are cute! Katie is too funny, bet your gonna miss her :)
okokok!!! If I have time before I leave, I'll make you one, but you have to promise to be good and stop whining.
A stinger? Crazy... but those two couldn't hurt a fly, because they are too, too cute. They look 100% huggable.
