Happy 50th Birthday Kim! This is the year for 50. I turned 50 this year too and so have several of my friends. I remember when it was the year for 18, 21, 30, & 40. I think 30 was harder than 50. I had 4 kids at 30 including a newborn. Life was stressful, no money, carpooling, PTA, house needed so much work, husband working 24/7, the car always broke down, the checks bounced, and someone was screaming MOM all the time. I was young then, but didn't know it. I can't remember much about those days, because I was so busy, I didn't save any brain cells for memory. When I look at the pictures, then I remember. The kids were so cute then and they liked us too. I was thinner, but thought I was fat then. Oh boy I wish I was that fat now. We had fun in spite of it all. We always took the kids on vacation despite the stress and expense of it all. When we had moments of peace and quite, we really appreciated it. We always thought, 'someday this will be a memory and we can't wait'. Well it happens faster than you think. All of a sudden the age fairy shows up and puts a big 50 under your pillow. It's time to slow down that clock now and enjoy the 50's, remember the good things and live in the moment.

You said a mouthful there. Time to stop and smell the roses.
