Unemployment is a beautiful thing. I have been playing at geaneology. It is very interesting.
This is a picture of a young girl that holds the title, "beautiful mystery girl". She was born in 1925, her name was Eleanore Talbot. She is with a woman who may or may not be her real mother. She died very tragically when she was 19 years old. She was a college student in Maine. I have been told she was very very smart and did some wonderful research on cancer. Her and her friends were driving along and something happened that caused them to end up in a lake and drown. I have mixed feelings about doing research on her. My curiosity about her parentage has me obsessed, but my sense of family and letting sleeping dogs lie also tugs at me. Maybe some things are better left unknown. ...............'I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then' (Toby Keith)

This is the Hemmingway House in Key West Florida. It was taken by my Great Great Aunt Minerva in 1935. She was a real 'Modern Minnie'. She was married, never had children, and traveled. She took all the family photographs. Thanks to her I have a bag full of family pictures from the 1920's-> I have several of her Florida March 1935 photos in my foyer here in Florida. Interesting that she was there in March and the Hurricaine of '35 hit in Sept and wiped out the Flagler RR bridge amongst other things. Here is a picture she took from the train of Pigeon Key

I have also been playing with fabric. I bought a book on 'paper piece' quilting. It produces some very geometric and funky patterns. I tried this one and though not perfect, it is kind of cool. I decided that the colors don't match anything in my house, so I put it in a scrapbook frame and maybe I will hang it in my sewing room if I ever get one. I can even change it out if I want.

I am so lucky that I have a wonderful husband to pay the bills while I play with my toys!
