Thank you Carol, http://workinprogress-wip.blogspot.com/ for this cute sign. It is my one and only halloween decoration. I hung it on my sewing room door. It has inspired me to update this blog with some rambling.....

I so resist decorating for
halloween. I guess It is because I really hate the whole orange and black color combination thing. It was always a time of year that made me sad, because it signified the end of warm weather, long sunny days, and the start of ice, snow, dark, & dreary days. We never had too many kids come trick or treating where we lived. It was on a main busy road in a rural area, no sidewalks, no street lights. So there was no reason to decorate much. The kids used to like to carve pumpkins and roast the seeds. Sometimes I would get the decorating bug and buy pots of mums and put out a few corn stalks. I guess I don't get motivated until the last minute.
Actually, there is plenty of time, we are still in the middle of September, even though I bet Walmart is chomping at the bit to get the Christmas stuff out on the shelves. I went to the store to buy a pool float for our trip last week, guess what?, none on the shelves, all the halloween stuff took it's place. That just makes me angry, what is the big rush??? I remember one time I had to shop for the kids to go to camp, I didn't have any money, so of course the week before they went, I had to buy their clothes, it was July and there were no shorts to be found anywhere!!! I ended up cutting off some jeans or something like that.
Why can't we live in the moment??? Always rushing to get on with the next holiday, always busy, getting ready, rushing around, gotta get moving, keep up with the masses.
I know I'll just give in eventually and go with the flow.... I remember buying pumpkin lights, I better go dig them out and put them on the palm trees right now before it's too late.

Then I'll go to Target and get myself a 'Marcus the Carcass', before they put out the Christmas decorations

Happy Birthday Carolyn
